pattern research

     I spent a while googling different types of texture that I found interesting, specially ones that I wouldn't be able to find on my own

    The left of this image is a picture of a shiny piece rock wall paper that I found. I started by tracing all the shapes as close to the lines that I could see. All of the shapes that I could complete away from the edged box I joined into a shape and raised the surface. I went back after to add the missing line from the pieces on the edges, joined them and raised them.

    When I got the the rendering, I made it into an oak box, and the center pieces I was playing around with colors and materials, I settled on colored plastic for two of them, specifically off-centre just to have that slightly uncentred feeling.

    These are just other patterns that I wanted to play with in different materials, I have a couple of other pictures that are patterns in wood, but I haven't really figured out how to put together that shapes in it into something different.
